Rates of Convergence for Asymptotically Weakly Contractive Mappings in Normed Spaces

We study Krasnoselskii-Mann style iterative algorithms for approximating fixpoints of asymptotically weakly contractive mappings, with a focus on providing generalized convergence proofs along explicit rates convergence. More specifically, we define new notion being ψ-weakly modulus, and present series abstract theorems which both generalize unify known results from the literature. Rates are formulated in terms our modulus contractivity, conjunction other moduli functions form quantitative analogues additional assumptions that required each case. Our approach makes use ideas proof theory, particular emphasis abstraction formulating main manner. As such, paper can be seen as contribution to mining program.

In this paper, we give a fixed point theorem for $(psi,varphi)$-weakly contractive mappings in complete $b$-metric spaces. We also give a common fixed point theorem for such mappings in complete $b$-metric spaces via altering functions. The given results generalize two known results in the setting of metric spaces. Two examples are given to verify the given results.
